Composer's Biography
Akiko Ushijima is composer, was born in Aichi, Japan in 1980. She got B.A. degree in Composition in 2002, and completed M.A. degree in Composition in 2004 from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music. Her works have been played in Japan and Germany. In order to introduce works of young contemporary composers in Japan, she has started a concert series "Urara-Art-Bleeding Edge" since 2007 where her pieces were premiered. Her latest work "S.S.S.-Phantom Music" has been nominated for the composition competition of the Japan Federation of Composers. Now she lives in the Netherlands to study composition in Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag.
