Composer's Biography
Blake Ragghianti attended Duquesne University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in from 1999-2001, intensively studying music education, music technology and piano performance. In 2004, he graduated from Carnegie Mellon University Music Conservatory with a BFA in music composition. Shortly after, he composed the pop/broadway styled music for "The Christmas Sweater," a hit broadway play. After returning to Pittsburgh, he started a non-profit called OvreArts whose mission remains "to unite young, successful organizations with gifted young individuals within the Pittsburgh community to create pioneering works of art within a collaborative and collegial atmosphere." While broadway and the non-profit have been educational experiences, Mr. Ragghianti's deepest passion lies in contemporary chamber, choir, and large ensemble composition.
